The New York Mets received a victory against the Florida Marlins yesterday, 4-1.
The Mets still remain with the lead in the National League East Division.
“Delgado, left-on-left in that situation after he tried a bunt, that was big,” Mets manager Jerry Manuel said. “That’s OK, the bunt. I didn’t mind the bunt, don’t get me wrong.”

Mets starting pitcher, Oliver Perez pitched six innings and allowed one run, but had five strike outs. He received the victory and his record is 7-6 on the season. “I’m thinking about trying to keep my team in the game,” Perez said.
“That was huge,” Mets pitcher, Aaron Heilman said, who pitched as the reliever . “A three-run lead gives our pitcher room to be a lot more aggressive.”
Marlins first basemen, Jorge Cantu scored there only run. He had four at bats with one hit. Starting pitcher, Scott Olsen pitched five innings, allowed two earned runs and six hits. He lost, and his record is 6-6 on the season. “We have a long way to go,” said Olsen 6-6). “We have a lot of games against each other.”
